HarlemAmerica Moments “For The Culture”

Hanging at Lenox Sapphire Harlem on Lenox and 127th St., checking out The Phil Young Experience, every Tuesday, 7 PM-11 PM. A jazz drummer, Phil has played with some of the giants. I'm humbled and honored when I walk in and the he acknowledges me with a shout-out in the middle of a tune.

Every end of July to the end of August, Summer Stage in Harlem, a free series, attracts members of the community to the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building. Strolling through the crowd with my boogy on, I can't help but remember the times I've been on that stage with my radio brothers and sisters from 107.5 WBLS and the now defunct 98.7 KISS FM. https://www.pix11.com/2019/08/03/the-music-of-harlem/  

Every September, I enjoy watching the African-American Day Parade bring so much joy to Harlem. It first took steps on September 21, 1969. Celebrating us, it gives honor to our ancestors and brings out the entire community. A real Harlem attraction with an illustrious backstory. Play Video
